Designed using size 11/0 Miyuki Delica beads and thread, this striking cuff was inspired by my ongoing exploration of knitted lace and the fluid, undulating forms it creates. The resulting beadwork combines intricate texture with a contemporary silhouette, making it equally suited to special occasions or everyday wear.
The cuff features a slider chain clasp, allowing it to slip easily over the hand while providing a comfortable and adjustable fit on the wrist.
Finished dimensions: approximately 6 cm (2.4 in) wide and 16.5 cm (6.5 in) / 14.5 cm (5.75 in) long, excluding the clasp.
Peekaboo Cuff Tutorial
Skill Level & Prerequisites
To complete this tutorial, you should be familiar with the following techniques:
- Creating a Rick Rack on a PodCast and detaching the finished beadwork
- Even-count peyote stitch
- Herringbone increases and decreases
- Creating picot edging
- Edge decreases when stepping up to reverse beading direction
- Adding a new length of thread and securing thread ends before trimming
If you are unfamiliar with creating a Rick Rack on a PodCast, standard peyote start instructions are included at the end of the tutorial as an alternative method.
