The finished basket was made with size 15/0 Miyuki Seed Beads in black, white and red and weights approximately 67g, measures 8cm across stands around 10cm tall.
As an alternative, if you go up a bead size and use size 11/0 beads, you will end up with a basket that you will be able to carry on you arm once you've added a handle of your choice.
Geometric Mini Basket Tutorial
To complete this tutorial you should be proficient in the following techniques:
- How to create a Rick Rack on a Podcast or a Casting Spine and how to detach the piece once completed
- Even count peyote and weaving on the round with Step Ups at the end of each row
- Herringbone Increases and Decreases (know in this tutorial as Pass Through (P/T) )
- Right Angle Weave (RAW) and how to stitch in the ditch
- How to zip your beadwork together
- How to secure and start a new length of thread and how to secure working thread before cutting it
- How to follow a word chart and diagrams
